Bystre is a town in the Svitavy region, southeastward of Policka on the Hornosvratecka vrchovina highlands on elevation of 600 metres over the sea level. The city centre has a wave shape between two streams. Westward of the town the landscape rises to a striking ridge. It is also a water-shed of the Svratka and Kretinka rivers. The ridge is as high as 700 metres above the sea level. Well-known cycle and tourist routes cross the town. There are also a water-reservoir “Hamry” used for bathing and a ski-drag.
